For the fourth consecutive year, Hot 102.7 and the Valdosta Vault gave away an all inclusive wedding during the Dream Wedding Giveaway. Hot 102.7 teamed up with local businesses so that two lovebirds can have the wedding of their dreams. The promotion is open to couples who are planning to get engaged, newly engaged and those who may want to renew their vows
The promotion goes like this: The first two weeks are spent talking about our amazing sponsors and allowing listeners to register by submitting their story. At the end of week two, three couples are selected by a panel of judges. During week three voting is opened up, and listeners have the chance to vote for couple they think should become the Dream Wedding winner!
This year was one of the most successful years in the history of this promotion. We had hundreds of deserving couples submit their loves stories and several thousand votes for our top three couples. But that’s where the story just starts getting good.
Our winning couple, Brie and Mitch Newcomer decided to do one of the most heartwarming and humble things imaginable and donate the prize to another couple in the running, Michele Siegrist and Jonathan North.
Michele, who has battled with Leukemia for years and is in finally in remission, submitted her love story to us and was chosen by our judges as one of the finalists. Her story not only touched the hearts of several of our listeners, it also pulled at the heartstrings of Brie and Mitch, who have had several people in their lives battle with cancer as well. They decided upon winning to graciously give their prize to the couple they said “was incredibly deserving”.
But Brie and Mitch didn’t walk away empty-handed! To reward them for their touching gesture, our title sponsor, The Valdosta Vault stepped up and awarded them with their own $5,000 set of rings! And to make it even sweeter, Hot 102.7 hooked them up with a Cruise to the Bahamas!!!
The room was full of tears as both couples said their “thank you’s” to everyone and hugged each other. It’s moments like these that make us realize that is truly important in life.
