VALDOSTA – Wiregrass Georgia Technical College recently honored Radiologic Technology students with an award ceremony.

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College held an award ceremony recognizing outstanding students in the Radiologic Technology program. Wiregrass President DeAnnia Clements opened the event with a warm welcome.
Radiologic Technology Program Director Terri Trowell introduced the graduates and shared, “In less than a month, you will be sitting for your national registry exam. Remember that you are prepared, capable, and ready! Welcome to the profession of Radiologic Technology, and remember that you will forever be proud alumni of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.”
The Radiologic Technology Class of 2025 includes Laci Copenhaver, Emily Edmonson, Anna Feagle, Tacara Fleming, Treasure Freeman, Heather Gandy, Tamara Harris, Dahja Joyner, Naida Martinez Ruiz, Erica Parks, Dresden Pierce, JD Pike, Amber Reno, Lee Reynolds, Katelyn Thomas, Simffani Thompson, Caleb Trees, Addison White, Alyah Williams, and Kesha Wolfenden.
The program partners with area medical and clinical facilities to prepare graduates for careers as Radiologic Technologists. At this time, 13 students have already accepted job offers, while others await responses from interviews or plan to return to college to further their education.
The Robert B. Quattlebaum Awards, sponsored by Radiology Associates of Valdosta, were presented to three seniors to help defray the cost of the registry fee. Recipients were Simffani Thompson, Anna Feagle, and Naida Martinez Ruiz. Junior Radiologic Technology student Jessica Pierce received a $250 scholarship.
The Franklin Eldridge Scholastic Award for the highest-grade point average was awarded to JD Pike. This award is sponsored by South Georgia Radiology Consultants. JD has already accepted a full-time position at SGMC Health Smith Northview Campus.
Outstanding Student Awards, voted on by employees at each clinical site, recognize those who demonstrate a proactive approach, eagerness to serve and learn, strong initiative, and the professional qualities valued in the field. Award recipients included:

- JD Pike – Southwell–Adel Primary
Radiologic Technology program instructors includeTerri Trowell, Director of Radiologic Technology; Lynn Pittman, Radiology Clinical Coordinator; Erin Whitesell, Radiology Clinical Instructor; Glenda Braswell, Adjunct Clinical Instructor; andJodie Vickers, Adjunct Clinical Instructor. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and accepts new students each Fall Semester on the Valdosta Campus.
