LOWNDES CO. – Georgia MLS reveals Lowndes County’s May residential real estate sales are sluggish due to interest rates.

Georgia MLS’ May snapshot for Lowndes County has been released. Even though this month is typically one of the busiest, Lowndes County is seeing sluggish sales, and one factor is interest rates (still!).

While sales were slightly up from April, fewer homes were sold than in the same month last year. Homes are on the market longer, and sellers are more willing to negotiate.
