A 17-year old girl remains in the Tift County jail after police say she attacked another teenager with a box cutter.

The incident happened Tuesday morning, when Jamila Whitehead allegedly pushed another girl to the ground, got on top of her and began swinging at her with a box-cutter. Whitehead struck one blow to the girl’s right eye, then ran from the scene.

The girl injured in the attack is recovering from an eye injury- Whitehead is now charged with aggravated assault.
