VALDOSTA – Eleven years ago, Aysha Ibrahim and her family brought a Chicago-style fish and chicken restaurant to South Georgia, and this year Hip Hop Fish & Chicken opened its third location, serving fresh, hot lunches and dinners.

“We came down here to the south, and we noticed there wasn’t any fish and chicken places here,” said Ibrahim. “So, we thought it was a perfect location and a great opportunity to introduce our food to the south.”

Hip Hop Fish & Chicken prides itself on using fresh ingredients.

“Our food is delivered fresh everyday,” Ibrahim said. “And when customers order, it is cooked to order. It’ll be hot and fresh.”

Hip Hop also works hard to maintain the highest health standards in food preparation.

“It’s all in teamwork with the employees,” Ibrahim said. “We have a wonderful health inspector who not only inspects the stores but also educates us on how to stay up to date and making those high scores.”

Hip Hop Fish & Chicken opened its first location at 702 S. Patterson St. and later added a second location at 2918 N. Ashley St. This year, Hip Hop opened its third restaurant at 1211 Baytree Rd.

“One of our customers told us about the building, and we got a lot of requests from the college crowd about the possibility of opening up one on that side of town,” Ibrahim said. “It’s doing quite well, and we have wonderful support from the Remerton crowd, too.”

“I just want to say I appreciate our customers for the support they have shown us for the past 11 years we’ve been in business,” Ibrahim said. “It just touches our hearts that we have such an amazing community. The Hip Hop name wouldn’t be what is is today without them.”
