The staff of MaxPreps, a high school sports website, has named the Lowndes Vikings as the top football dynasty in all of Georgia over the last decade. Taking into account schools’ wins, state titles, and opponent’s winning percentage, the site compiled a list of the top 15 schools in the state.
Lowndes (107-21, 3 state titles, 906-591-1 opponent record) was named tops in the state.
Other local schools appearing on the list are Valdosta at #12 (74-44, 860-517-1 opponent record), Colquitt County at #13 (71-50, 895-538-1 opponent record) and Thomas County Central at #15 (91-31, 802-594-2 opponent record).
