Former Lowndes Viking and current Mercer Bears catcher Sarah Santana has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team. The awards were created to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Santana was also named the Atlantic Sun Conference Scholar Athlete of the year.  She currently ranks 25th nationally in on base percentage(.528), and 12th in walks (.85 per game).

The four-year starter at Mercer University graduates Saturday with a 3.91 GPA.
