If former UGA linebacker Jarvis Jones had just run a hair faster at his pro day, perhaps he would have been drafted higher than #17 overall in last month’s NFL draft. The funny part is, Jones doesn’t seem to mind being the newest member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
At the Steelers’ rookie minicamp over the weekend, Jones told reporters, “I’m glad I slipped.” He called being drafted by Pittsburgh “what I was hoping for and wishing for.”
Jones has some mighty big shoes to fill as a rookie, as he will go into the 2013 season as the heir apparent to All-Pro James Harrison.
