GBI seeks suspect in Americus shooting investigation

AMERICUS – The GBI is seeking a 31-year-old man wanted for aggravated assault in the shooting investigation of a GA man.

At the request of the Americus Police Department, GBI agents are investigating an aggravated assault in Americus.

On Monday, January 13, 2025, at about 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a home on Oak Avenue, in Americus, Sumter County, GA, where a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

One suspect has been identified as Joseph Quantez “Quan” Sales, age 31, of Americus, GA. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Sales for two counts of Aggravated Assault. Sales is not in custody at this time.
