ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – Three men who were killed last Friday, October 4, when they apparently drove their vehicle through a gate at Robins Air Force Base, have been identified.

The vehicle the men were in reportedly accelerated as it approached Russell Parkway gate and collided with a security barrier around 9:30 p.m. base officials said.

Fox News reported that security personnel activated the barrier once the sentry was unable to halt their approach.

Two were pronounced dead of the scene and the third, who was transported to Houston Medical Center, died there.

According to the Houston County Coroner, Danny Galpin, the three victims were the driver, Yaney Perez-Perez, 20, and passengers Adar Lopez-Morales and Evelio Perez, both in their 30s, all from Guatemala.

This is an open investigation. It is unclear how the men died at this point or why they decided to breach the gateway.
