JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville emergency responders began searching for a second body in as many days off Little Talbot Island as powerful currents lash Northeast Florida.
Police officers swam 300 feet through perilous currents to direct a Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department jet ski to an unidentified woman who was brought safely to shore about 7 p.m. Sunday, according to the Florida Times-Union news.
Authorities said a man was still in the water, but the situation was a recovery not a rescue effort. He was not identified.
