WASHINGTON, DC — Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson has been named chairman of two Senate Committees.

Isakson was named Chairman of both the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and the Senate Select Committee on Ethics.

The veterans affairs committee will play a key role in ensuring reforms passed by Congress last year are put in place to better serve our nation’s veterans.

Aides say Isakson’s priorities as chairman will include oversight of the new Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014, approved in response to a scandal over long wait times for veterans seeking health care and falsification of records to cover up delays.
