Voter-RegistrationATLANTA, GA  – Secretary of State Brian Kemp wants to remind Georgians they must be registered to vote by April 21st in order to participate in the May 20th Primary Election.

“Every Georgian should have the opportunity to vote in the May 20th Primary Election,” said Kemp.  “The good news is that it is easier than ever to get registered to vote or to change your registration information.”

Georgians with a valid Georgia driver’s license can go online and register at:https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/#no-back-button.

The “My Voter Page” (MVP) app also allows Georgians to register to vote.  They can view their specific sample ballot, find their polling locations, check voter registration status and track the status of their absentee ballot. All of this information is available on mobile devices on Apple and Android platforms.  To find the app search for “GA Votes” in the app store.

Kemp launched the new systems last week at a combined meeting of the Georgia Election Officials Association/Voter Registrars Association of Georgia in Augusta, GA with election leaders from across the state.  It is believed that Georgia is the first state in the nation to offer both online registration as well as an innovative mobile application that enables voter registration like “MVP”.

Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January 2010. Among the office’s wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting secure, accessible and fair elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders.
