GEORGIA – Georgia’s Energy Assistance Program, LIHEAP, will be open tot he general public at 8:00 a.m. on December 2nd on a first come, first served basis to be placed on a waiting list for assistance. The program provide low-income families with help to help soften the blow from heating costs.
All applicants must be legal U.S. citizens or legally admitted aliens. There is income criteria that households applying for the application must meet. Individuals interested in the program must call the Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) in their county to place their name on the applicant list. Click here to view your counties number. The NSC business hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the duration of the program. Do not go to NSC, they will not be taking applicants in person. It is required that you call and place your name on the list for an appointment time.
Applicants must provide a valid form of picture identification, proof of income for all household members, Social Security cards for all household members, and the most recent utility or fuel bill.
