ALBANY, GA – Georgians on food stamps will see a cut in their benefits starting on Friday, November 1st. The food stamp program is cutting $5 billion nationwide. Second Harvest says billion dollars represents about 1 point 9 million meals. Second Harvest is trying to determine how much funding will be cut, but they are sure there will be an increase in demand due to the coming holiday seasons.
