Congress

Unable to resolve their stand-off over ObamaCare, Congress missed a midnight deadline to pass a spending bill, and for the first time in 17 years, the government has gone into a partial shutdown.

Despite a volley of last minute counter-proposals from the House, Senate Democrats refused to consider any changes to ObamaCare.

House Republicans refused to back off their demand that the budget bill include a measures to add limits in the health care law’s insurance “exchanges,” that go into effect on Tuesday.
