An Atlanta-based group is hoping to change part of Georgia’s death penalty law, specifically the statute requiring a person to prove intellectual disability beyond a reasonable doubt to avoid a death sentence. To date, Georgia is the only state that requires proof at that level.
All About Developmental Disabilities is launching a month-long campaign this week that will include meetings with legislators and a large social media blitz. The organization provides support services, advocacy and training to families living with developmental disabilities.
