Count Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss among those on Capitol Hill that aren’t exactly thrilled with having to vote on whether or not to use military action in Syria. Speaking with WALB on Monday, Chambliss said that he will vote for military action, but believed that the President should “have gone ahead and taken military action…then come to congress and…have the debate.”
As for exactly what action the US should take, the Senator failed to get into specifics, saying he will “leave that to the experts.”
Chambliss also noted the economic impact of not only the Arab Spring, but also the impact of a Syrian conflict, stating that “unless we can control that region and put stability back in place we’re going to continue see gas prices rise and nobody in Georgia or America wants to see that happen.”
