doctor-up-closeA nationwide outbreak of Cyclosporiasis has reached Georgia, with two new cases being reported over the weekend. Over 200 cases of the stomach bug have been reported in 11 states.

Symptoms of the bug include watery diarrhea, weight loss, bloating, fatigue and nausea. If untreated, the illness is known to stick around a few days or longer. Health officials say if you experience any symptoms, to contact your doctor.

The CDC has not identified a particular food or drink responsible for the outbreak, although prior outbreaks have been linked to various types of fresh produce. It’s also not clear if the reported cases are due to a single source, or if more than one source of the parasites may be involved.
