red cross driveValdosta, GA- More than two dozen trucks packed with supplies and volunteers left south Georgia bound for Oklahoma on Tuesday morning. Over two dozen people died in the wake of Monday’s EF-5 tornado that cut a nearly 2-mile swath through the OKC suburb of Moore, OK.

The Red Cross is also sending in kitchen support trailers to support the upcoming operation to provide meals to those forced out of their homes. Thousands have been left homeless by the storm, the third EF-3 tornado to strike Moore since 1999.

Oklahoma Emergency Management reports that around 2,400 homes were damaged in Monday’s storm, affecting around 10,000 people.
