Sen. Saxby Chambliss hit a hole in one while golfing with President Obama Monday.
The White House called Friday to invite Chambliss to play with the president and Utah Democratic Senator Mark Udall at Joint Base Andrews. Chambliss invited Tenessee Republican Bob Corker to join them.
Chambliss said they briefly discussed some policy issues including the budget, Syria, and cyber security. But he said the gathering was more about enjoying golf together.
The outing is seen as an effort by the president to reach out to Republican members of Congress.
Chambliss’ hole-in-one came on the 11th hole. He said the President was very gracious. Mr. Obama picked up his ball out of the hole and congratulated him and signed the flag from the 11th hole that the course presented to Chambliss.
