Camilla Drug Dealer Sentenced

ALBANY — An Albany State student charged with the death of a passenger in her car has been sentenced in Albany.

Amber Brown pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle related to the death of Damian Johnson, 28.  The car she was driving collided with the back of a street sweeper parked in the emergency lane of the Liberty Expressway in Albany.

She lost control of the vehicle, cut across the median, then stopped when she hit a guardrail.  Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Prosecutors had asked for jail time for Brown, but the judge Friday sentenced her to 15 years probation.  While on probation, she is ordered to attend in-house treatment center at her expense and will be prohibited from drinking alcohol while on probation.
