LAST DAY TO CAMPAIGN | ATLANTA — They are making their way across the state today and the candidates in several Georgia races are pulling out all the stops.
Michelle Nunn and David Perdue will make campaign stops in multiple cities across the state as the race for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss has become one of the most closely watched races in the nation as the Republican Party seeks to gain control of the senate majority.
Jason Carter and incumbent Governor Nathan Deal are forging ahead in a close race for the governorship. The polls will open early Tuesday at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
NORTH VALDOSTA ROAD ACCIDENT REPORT | VALDOSTA — The report issued regarding the vehicular accident in the northern part of the county Friday afternoon on North Valdosta Road states that the driver of a pickup truck was traveling on the wrong side of the busy thoroughfare during rush hour traffic after crossing the median into oncoming traffic. That investigation continues.
LINDER MURDER SUSPECTS NOW NUMBER THREE | VALDOSTA — The number of persons charged in the recent murder of Timothy Linder is now up to three.
Police Chief Brian Childress has originally announced the capture and arrest of 16 year old Ricky Barron Jr. with Linder’s’ shooting death during an attempted robbery. In addition to Barron, the Valdosta Police Department has also taken into custody two females identified as 18 year old Angel Clark and 23 year old Andreah Mitchell. They face multiple charges including being party’s to felony murder.
