VPD Make One Arrest After Raid

Valdosta-Police-Car-SideVALDOSTA, GA – The Valdosta Police Department has arrested one man after a raid early Friday morning.

After receiving multiple complaints in reference to narcotic activity at 2502 University Drive, the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation which led to detectives obtaining a search warrant for the residence.

This morning, VPD Narcotics Detectives, with the assistance of the VPD Tactical Operations Unit, Power Squad Unit, members of both the Patrol and Investigations Bureaus, and State of Georgia Probation Officers, executed the search warrant. During the search warrant detectives seized 95.2 grams of marijuana, 3.8 grams of powdered cocaine, 1.9 grams of crack cocaine, 26 Hydrocodone pills, and a 9mm handgun.

The resident, Tommy Renard Green, 43 years of age, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent, possession of cocaine with intent, possession of a schedule II narcotic, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. Green also had active felony warrants from Alachua County Florida, for narcotics sales and possession. He is currently in Lowndes County Jail.
