Wiregrass-Georga-Tech-LogoVALODSTA, GA – Teams are pulling out their dictionaries, practicing Words with Friends™, and preparing to battle for the Big Bedazzled B.

On September 18, 2014, Brooks County Certified Literate Community Program and Brooks County Family Connection will be hosting its annual Community/Corporate Spelling Bee to raise funds for Family Connection programs and GED testing scholarships. The spelling bee will be held at Quitman Church of God in the Sanctuary from 6pm-8pm.  Teams of up to five are entering the spelling bee in hopes of becoming the Top Speller and taking home the Big Bedazzled B Trophy for the entire year.

Everyone is invited to come out and watch the teams as they spell for literacy. Teams interested in participating should contact the Brooks Family Connection office for an application and to pay their team registration fee of $125 which covers entry and 1 Spell-It-Again. Themes and costumes for teams are highly encouraged and there will be a prize for the Best Team Costume.  Afraid you may need a little help during the spelling bee? Teams can purchase “Spell-It-Agains” for $25.

For more information or to register a team, contact Natalie Singletary at bcfc@brooks.k12.ga.us.
