VALDOSTA, GA – The Lowndes County Bird Supper, originally scheduled for this Wednesday, has been postponed.  The event, co-sponsored by the City of Valdosta and Lowndes County, will be held on Wednesday, March 5.

The decision was made for the utmost safety of all involved with the event.  The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service predicts the potential for ice and snow for north Georgia this week.  Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has declared a State of Emergency for 14 counties, with the possibility of more to be added later.

Citizens with reserved tickets to the Bird Supper, originally scheduled for Feb. 12, are being contacted with the new details.  The location of the event has not changed.  The information has also been posted to both the City of Valdosta and Lowndes County web sites.
