VALDOSTA, GA – The South Georgia Association of Nurse Practitioners sponsored the Lowndes County Schools Homeless Children this year at their Dec 5, 2013 Annual Charity Give Back Event at The Ravine in Kinderlou Forest. The group sponsored the teenage group this year with Gift Cards to make their Christmas extra special! Homeless Case manager, Tan Jones accepted the gift cards on behalf of Lowndes County School system.
Situations that result in families becoming homeless consist of foreclosure to domestic violence. Families never imagined being in a homeless situation and are very thankful for any support offered. Currently, over 140 homeless children have been identified in Lowndes County and are in need of the community’s support.
