VALDOSTA, GA – The Valdosta Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress on Wednesday, December 11, at 230 Blue Pool Drive to find their suspect already in custody. Officers arrived and found one of the victims holding onto 20 year old Damien Moore, of Valdosta. Moore was placed into custody.
The three victims told police that they were on the back porch when Moore approached them with a handgun, and then demanded their money and cell phones. Moore had his face covered when he arrived, but during the struggle with the victims, his face was uncovered and they recognized Moore. They were able to hold him until officers arrived on the scene.
Detectives and Crime Laboratory Personnel were called to the scene to investigate. The handgun that was recovered was determined to have been stolen. Moore was transported to the Lowndes County Jail. He is being charged with 3 counts of Armed Robbery, 3 counts of Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
