Meigs, Ga. Mayor Elect Arrested

handcuffs isolated MEIGS, GA – The Mayor elect for Meigs, Georgia in Thomas County was taken into custody Friday afternoon.

Linda Harris, the mayor elect for Meigs, GA, was arrested after the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office held a pre-warrant hearing. A judge ruled there was probable cause for the arrest of Harris. She was arrested on a misdemeanor stalking charge, but it is currently unknown who Harris was stalking.

She was booked in the Thomas County jail and has been released on bond.

Harris’ next court date is set for February 3, 2014.
