CORDELE, GA – A house fire on Wednesday has taken the life of an elderly Cordele man. Officials say 76 year old  Moses Jimmerson died in an accidental house fire at his home on West 28th Avenue on December 11.

State fire investigators said unattended food left cooking on the stove was the cause of the fire. Officials said Jimmerson did not have any working fire detectors in his home.  Sate Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says this is the 114th fire-related fatality in Georgia this year.
