RALEIGH, N.C. – Fair ride operator, Timothy Tutterrow, made his first appearance in court on Monday, October 28th. Tutterrow is facing three assault with a deadly weapon charges after a fair ride malfunctioned at the North Carolina State Fair Thursday, October 24th. Each charge is punishable of up to 8 years in prison. Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said officials had determined the ride had been intentionally tampered with to bypass safety devices, but has yet to provide details of evidence against Tutterrow. Three people remain hospitalized from the accident.
