No Distress Call in Tifton Plane Crash

plane crash news TIFTON, GA – The National Transportation Safety Board says in its preliminary report the pilot of a Piper PA-28 gave no distress call before crashing in a field just north of Tifton on October 18th. A nearby resident told officials he saw the plane fly over his home, and then fall straight down. The Piper PA-28 had departed from Merrit Island, FL and was headed to La Grange, GA. The Pilot of the plane was 39-year-old Elliot Leadley of Orlando Fl. The NTSB is continuing to investigate the crash.
