jail THOMASVILLE, GA – A Homerville woman and her son, a Thomas County Prison inmate, are charged with a number of offenses in an incident that took place while the prisoner was on work detail. An eye-witness saw a car pull over on Cherokee Street near the Jail-Justice Center and throw a black bag out of the window. An inmate picked up the bag and stuck it in his back pocket. The witness immediately told drug agents, and agents searched the inmates and found tobacco on one inmate. The officers then searched a cooler containing sandwiches for the inmates. There they found a large black plastic bag containing marijuana and ice, methamphetamine. The total weight of marijuana was close to half a pound.
