Valdosta police officers responded to South Georgia Medical Center yesterday after a man came to the hospital emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound. Officials interviewed the 29 year old Homerville resident who had been shot in the torso area while visiting in the 1600 block of Park Avenue. According to the report he was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle.
After speaking with multiple Park Avenue residents, it was determined that the victim was talking with a group of other males in the parking lot when the shot was fired. No motive has been established. The victim was identified as Edward Mincey and is in stable condition.
