The Valdosta Police Department issued the following release this morning: Charles Hawkins a 24 year old Valdosta resident was arrested on Friday, September 20, 2013 for two outstanding arrest warrants; Arson – First Degree and Burglary–both connected to a fire that destroyed the Deborah Drive home of a Moody airman on September 9th.
On September 20th, officers spotted (a man) in the Deborah Drive/Pineview Drive area on a bicycle who was ordered to stop but refused to comply with officer’s orders. He left the bicycle and proceeded to run from law enforcement but was later apprehended in the 2400 block on North Forrest Street. Hawkins was wanted for the two outstanding arrest warrants and is also charged with Obstruction of an Officer. Hawkins is currently being held at the Lowndes County Jail pending court proceedings.
