Its completion is still nearly 18 months away, but the West Hill Avenue overpass is moving along without a hitch, and is actually running about 10 percent ahead of schedule.
Walls for the ramp are already going up, and pillars and girders are being installed along the railroad tracks. However, city transportation planner Corey Hull says that just because there is progress doesn’t mean traffic is allowed to zip by.
Local traffic for residents and businesses will remain open so long as there is work on the project- the entire overpass is expected to be finished by Christmas of 2014.
