meth on tableA Valdosta couple is behind bars after being stopped in Echols County with what officials called a mobile meth lab in their vehicle. Deputies stopped 29-year old Katherine Carroll and 34-year old Christopher Carroll after observing their vehicle swerving on Culpepper Road Friday night.

A traffic stop ensued, at which point the officer noticed a strong smell of meth coming from the minivan.  A one-pot ‘shake and bake’ lab was found in the back of the van, as well as a cooler containing meth-making materials. Officials say the pair were actually cooking the drug as they drove down the road.

Katherine Carroll is now charged with misdemeanor failure to maintain lane, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony manufacture of methamphetamine, and felony possession of tools used in the commission of a crime.
