Police and fire investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspected arsonist that set fire to a house on Morningside Drive Wednesday morning. Police were called to the home around 2:45am after the residents inside said that whomever had set the fire had also blocked both doors of the home.
According to investigators, the alleged arsonist ignited a couch cushion to block the front door, and a pizza box to block the back door. Five people, including two children, were inside the home at the time of the fire.
Fire officials say they don’t yet have a motive, but are interviewing the residents to find out more. Anyone with information on the person responsible for setting the fire is asked to call the VFD at 333-1853.
