One man is behind bars after police discovered 12 large marijuana plants growing in the yard of a home in rural north Brooks County. Deputies with the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that Christopher Westberry was growing the drug at his home.
When they arrived at the home on John Buck McCoy Road, they saw a 5-foot pot plant growing right in the front yard. Behind a chicken coop near the house were 11 more plants, all standing between 4 to 6 feet tall.
Those plants, once processed, were estimated to have a street value of around $12,000. Westberry is now charged with manufacturing marijuana.
