State and federal authorities are urging local banks throughout south Georgia to be on the lookout for a woman who has cashed fraudulent checks throughout the region.

The woman has allegedly hit four branches of Colony Bank- Albany, Sylvester, Valdosta, and Moultrie. In each instance, she was able to fraudulently get $1,000.

The check is made out to a “Ellen Wages” and was supposedly written by Donna McKenzie, but police say it’s a forgery from a closed account.
