SGMC’s Spine program recently was awarded distinction from Healthgrades.com as the number one spine program in Georgia. SGMC’s rankings are based on patient outcomes and quality of care. Spine Care Center physicians are Eric Gee, MD; James Goss, MD; Hitham Khalil, MD and Edward Mark, MD.

According to Clinch Memorial Hospital Administrator Phillip Cook, this clinic, which is the first of its kind, will enhance the primary care services that are available in Clinch County and add a specialty service that previously did not exist.

“We are very excited to offer expanded services to the residents we serve,” Cook said. “Statistics show that 85% of the US population suffers from back or neck pain at some point in their lives. By bringing world class spine care to Homerville, we are helping to prevent long-term disability and improve the quality of life for our back pain patients.”

Back pain is the leading cause of disability in Americans under 45 years old. Many treatment options are available including physical therapy, injections and new minimally invasive and traditional surgical treatments.
