A Madison man, Cedrick Edwards, has been found guilty in the 2011 beating death of another man in the parking lot of the county health department. A jury deliberated for just around 40 minutes before coming to the decision on Thursday.

Police in Madison say Michael Logan went to the health department to pick up medicine for his wife on the afternoon of August 25, 2011. In the parking lot, Edwards attacked Logan with a tire iron and beat him to death. No motive was ever established as to why Edwards went after the man.

There is no word yet on when Edwards will be sentenced.
