Brooks Co. Extension Office Coordinator Charged With Theft

police lights blurUniversity of Georgia Police have accused the head of the Brooks County Extension office of theft. They say Johnny Whiddon diverted more than $11,000 into his personal account from the university system from his office in Quitman.

Whiddon is charged with 22 counts of theft by taking and 47 counts of unlawful use of state resources. The twenty-year veteran of the extension office turned himself into police last week and is free on bond.

He and his attorney have started their own investigation into the case, claiming that his is indeed innocent.
