Valdosta, GA- Less than ten days after a judge gave the green light for the body of 17-year old Kendrick Johnson to be exhumed, that process will get underway early Friday morning.
Family attorney CB King says work on exhuming the body will begin around 6am at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Valdosta. Once the body is exhumed, an independent pathologist will perform a second autopsy on the body.
An independent autopsy is being performed in light of recent EMT reports that were released, which contradicted findings that were reported in the official report from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
That autopsy is expected to be completed by the end of the month at an unidentified lab in Florida.
