Thomasville, GA- A woman named as a suspected armed robber has died after wrecking her vehicle on SR-188 on Friday. The unidentified woman allegedly walked into a Thomasville liquor store around 1:45pm and demanded money.

When the clerk refused, she walked behind the counter. A struggle ensued, with the clerk wrestling the weapon away from her. Disarmed, the woman ran from the store and sped off.

Police say the woman then successfully robbed a bank in Pavo- in her haste to flee the scene, she drove her car off Hwy 188 into a body of water. Thomas County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene shortly before 4pm.

The suspect, described as a heavy-set black female, was pronounced dead at Archbold Medical Center Monday afternoon.
