A 22-year old Tifton man has been arrested and charged in connection with a Tuesday morning shooting outside of a Tifton nightclub. Police were called to La Estrella around 2am Tuesday in response to a ‘shots fired’ call.

When officers arrived, witnesses were yelling and pointing at a man who had fled across the street. A short time later, Marquisten Jones was in handcuffs and behind bars.

Witnesses said Jones began shooting inside the club, fired once at the security guard at the door, and continued firing shots once on the street. No injuries were reported- Jones is charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct.
