Investigators in Colquitt County are investigating the Monday night death of a pedestrian along Sardis Church Road. The unidentified man was struck and killed, however, police have not yet released any further details of the crash.
Monday night’s death marks the seventh death on Georgia roads over the 72-hour holiday weekend, and second in south Georgia. An 18-year old died Sunday in a two-car crash near Cairo.
The seven weekend deaths mark a significant drop from the 2012 Memorial Day weekend, where 16 people were killed on Georgia roadways.
