The Tift County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings on Friday afternoon that left one woman dead and another injured.  The first call came to police around 4pm near I-75 and South Central Avenue- no one was injured.

Less than 90 minutes later, an unidentified man was shot and killed as he stopped his truck at 3rd Avenue and Short Street. His female passenger was shot and injured- she is recovering at Tift Regional Medical Center.

The woman told police two men walked up to the truck with pistols drawn and began shooting into the cab of the pickup. The Tift Sheriff’s Office is now working with the GBI to figure out if the two incidents are related.
