Police are searching for Michael Russell, 26, a dangerous fugitive who plead guilty to a deadly armed robbery in Colquitt County but did not show up for his sentencing hearing.
Russel, and Phirronnius Edwards, 25, were charged with the September 2011 death of Billy Hewitt, 29. Russell agreed to plead guilty to armed robbery in exchange for his testimony against Edwards.
He was supposed to be sentenced last month, but he didn’t show up for his hearing and has been on the run since.
Police want to get home Russell off the streets, saying that he should be considered dangerous and desperate to avoid a long prison term.
Edwards is serving a life sentence for the murder.
Russell is 6’3″ and 240 pounds.
Anyone with information about him is urged to call the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.
