Valdosta, GA- Thousands of gallons of sewage spilled into the Withlacoochie River on Wednesday morning after a sewer line burst. A press release from the city said that the main burst just west of the Withlacoochie River crossing on Hwy. 133.
Roughly 900 gallons of sewage were being deposited into the river per minute due to the broken main. The public is being asked to avoid contact with the Withlacoochee River south of the bridge at Highway 133.
